Candle Care
🕯️ Candle Care Guide
Welcome to your guide for enjoying Clear Cloud Candle's soy wax creations. Proper candle care ensures a clean burn, maximizes fragrance, and extends the life of your candle. Follow these steps to get the most out of your experience.
🔥 First Burn: Set the Memory
- Allow the wax to melt completely across the surface during the first burn. This prevents tunneling and promotes an even burn in future uses.
- Burn time: For the initial burn, let the candle melt to the edges, this may take 2 - 4 hours depending on size.
✂️ Wick Maintenance
- Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each lighting. This helps maintain a steady flame and reduces soot.
- Use a wick trimmer or scissors to achieve a clean cut.
⏳ Burn Duration
- Limit each burn session to 3 - 4 hours. Over-burning can cause the wick to mushroom and produce soot.
- Let the candle cool for at least 2 hours before relighting.
🌬️ Extinguishing the Flame
- Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame to prevent wax splatter.
- Never use water to extinguish a candle. This can cause hot wax to splatter and may break the container.
🧼 Keeping It Clean
- Keep the wax pool free of debris such as wick trimmings or matches to ensure a clean burn.
- Store candles in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, to preserve their scent and appearance.
🧊 Repurposing Your Candle Jar
- Freeze the jar for a few hours after the wax burns down to about ½ inch. The remaining wax should shrink and easily removed.
- Clean the jar warm soapy water and a paper towel.
- Repurpose: Turn the jar into storage, a mini planter, or decor.
⚠️ Safety Tips
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep away from flammable materials, children, and pets.
- Place on a stable, heat-resistant surface to prevent accidents.
